Selling Tool What happens when a new kitten comes to town?
Lesson Activity Students will talk about themes they see throughout the book. Themes that are in the book is a sibling like relationship relationship, death, and being a good example to those who are younger. Students will be given a piece of construction paper and they will draw who their biggest role model is and write 1 sentence why that person is their role model.

With prompting and support, describe the relationship between illustrations and the story in which they appear (e.g., what moment in a story an illustration depicts).

Students will answer questions throughout story about themes that are seen throughout.
Students will answer questions to make prior knowledge connection to pets they have at home.
Students will be able to make connections to be a role model and what that means.
Learning Goals
Students will listen to a reading of a fiction book to make personal connection to different themes.
Notes: Depending on the grade level, the activity of drawing a role model will be adjusted.
