For this activity students will use ‘Molly’s Notebook’ for inspiration in creating herbal teas and medicinal salves. There are several herbs in the notebook that will be appropriate for this experiment:

• Amaranth
• Pomegranate
• Castor Oil Plant
• Mandrake
• Acorn
• Bosage
• Lemon Balm
• Lavender
• Sow thistle
• Chamomile
• Apple
• Yarrow
• Mallow
• Wild oat
• Comfrey
• Fat hen
• Arnica
• Rosemary
• calendula

The students will research the herb’s properties before experimenting with them, and will do so with the teacher’s discretion.

Learning Goal	Students will learn about medicinal properties of common herbs
Learning Objective	Students will investigate the medicinal properties of common herbs using print and online sources, and will create a tea or salve.
Learning outcome	Students will use print and online sources for investigation and create tea and salve using herbal plants.
