What Can You Do with a Paleta? is a colorful, imaginative book that
describes children having fun on a hot day with a paleta, or popsicle. For this
learning activity, students would use the text as a point of reference to
complete a short writing prompt (between one and two paragraphs) where they
describe their favorite food or activity during the summertime.
Standards:

backgrounds relate to a piece of multicultural literature.
Objective (Cognitive): The students will be able to read the story and relate and
transfer their own experiences in a paragraph-long response detailing their
favorite summertime activities.
