Book Review - Fly Guy is a Book that is super accessible for your readers who want to try graphic novels, but are not quite ready for the content. The book pairs slapstick humor with crazy skills and situations that are still easily understood buy 3rd graders who are reluctant to read, and is a great way for students to get an introduction to the graphic novels section that is growing in most elementary libraries.

Activity- (For use overall, not specific to this book) Create a book review for you classmates next year, write about your favorite book or one that surprised you!

Standard - CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.3.5 - Refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successive part builds on earlier sections.

Goal - Students will be able to read books independently and write short book reviews.

Objective - Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the text through writing, and understand and display their work through publishing instructed by the teacher.

Outcome - Students will have a resource for next year that allows them to see what their classmates read the previous year.
