Summary:
A native american interpretation of the cinderella story. Told in a storyteller format, the young scarred sister, who is tormented by her step sisters finds that she maybe the only one who is really sought by the invisible god.

Activity: Starting with a Grimm fairytale as a primary source, students will use the library databases and Internet search to identify evidence of their fairytale in other cultures or representations. Students can choose to look at the themes of the tale, such as morality, or find specific examples that mimic the tale in setting, character, and plot. Students will present their compare/contrasts of their chosen fairy tale in front of the class.Cinderella will be used as an example of a tale that appears in multiple cultures. Recommended for 5th grade.*

CC.5.W.7 Research to Build and Present Knowledge: Conduct short research projects that use several sources to build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic.


Learning Objective:
Students will use research to identify a chosen fairytale significance of plot, setting, character, or theme.
Students will present found research in powerpoint, video, or other presentation tools.


Learning Goal:
Students will better understand how a fairy tale develops from culture to culture, specifically focusing on the setting, character, plot, or theme.
